Audits for stores that have grown up

Established stores often run on more systems than anyone planned: an ERP or inventory system, a 3PL, a review app, a loyalty app, tracking tags and years of theme edits. When something breaks or slows down, it's hard to tell which piece is responsible.

The audit maps all of it. I review how the store is built today and how data moves between Shopify and your other systems, then give you an architecture diagram and a prioritized fix list. It runs remotely; I don't have an office in Dallas.

What the audit covers

  • Integrations mapped

What syncs where, how often, and what breaks when it fails.

  • App stack reviewed

Value, cost, speed impact and overlap with other apps or native features.

  • A plan, not a pile

Findings ranked so you know what to fix first.

How a remote audit runs

1 to 2 weeks, start to walkthrough

  1. Access

You give me access to the store admin and the theme, plus a list of the systems Shopify connects to.

  2. Review

Theme, data model, apps, integrations, checkout, speed, UX and SEO.

  3. Write-up

An architecture diagram and a prioritized fix list, in plain English.

  4. Walkthrough call

A 30-minute call to go through the findings and answer questions.

The store behind the storefront

Build around how your customers shop.

A Shopify project is more than a new homepage. Your catalog, navigation, product pages, cart, and operations need to work together. I start with what you sell, how customers choose, and where your team spends time working around the store.

Whether you sell from one city or serve customers across several regions, the scope starts with your store and customers. A focused review can help separate a theme problem from a product-content gap, an integration issue, or a process that needs to change.

  • 01 · Product discovery

Help shoppers find the right product

Plan collections, navigation, search, and filters around the questions customers bring to your catalog. Product attributes, variants, and merchandising should make choices clearer on mobile as well as desktop.

  • 02 · Buying confidence

Make product pages do more of the work

Bring the information customers need into the buying journey: product details, variant selection, delivery information, and clear next steps. Review the path from product page to cart for confusing interactions and missing context.

  • 03 · Shopify architecture

Choose a store structure your team can maintain

Define reusable theme sections, product data, and app responsibilities before adding more code. For a migration or rebuild, map the catalog, existing URLs, content, and integration dependencies before deciding what to carry forward.

  • 04 · Ecommerce operations

Connect the storefront to what happens after purchase

Map how inventory, orders, fulfillment, email, and reporting fit into the store. Identify manual handoffs and overlapping apps, then agree which connections belong in the project and how to test them.

A practical plan for your next Shopify project

Start with the business problem, agree on a manageable scope, and check the buying journey before launch.

  1. Understand the store

Share your store URL, what you sell, and the problem you want to solve. For an existing store, useful context includes customer questions, operational friction, and the data you already have.

  2. Choose what to change first

Decide whether the next step is an audit, a focused improvement, or a larger build. Document the theme, app, content, and integration decisions so the scope is clear before implementation.

  3. Review the complete journey

Check collection browsing, product selection, cart behavior, and the relevant checkout and order handoffs. Include mobile use and the tasks your team needs to manage after launch.

I’m based in Fort Lauderdale and work remotely. Share your location and preferred working hours so we can discuss how to collaborate.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you need to visit our office?

No. Shopify work runs in the store admin, the code and development themes, so it works remotely. I'm based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and don't have an office in your city.

Will the audit change anything on my store?

No. The audit is a review. Changes happen afterwards, by your team or by me, once you've decided what to fix.

What's the time difference?

One hour. Dallas is on Central Time and I'm on Eastern Time.
